at
The Graduate Center,
on October 10th, at 6:30 PM.

What will we be discussing?
Well, I'm not entirely sure.
But, we may touch upon:
Historiographical meta-fiction; chronotopes; cloud atlases; Walter Benjamin's angel of history; deckled edges; apocalypse-lit; György Lukács; coyote tricksters; Frederic Jameson; skeuomorphs; Heaven's Gate and the Industrial Church of The New World Comforter; end-of-empire; the Ein Sof; Carlos Casteneda; Wolf Hall; the vagaries of spot-glossing and the varieties of parchment; the mountain meadows massacre; Independence Day; speculative fiction v. historical fiction and the genre question; the colonization of the past in our putatively post-colonial present...
Or, you know—whatever.
Basically, my contribution will be to sit there, smiling. (these other fellows are rather bright.)
